Vuxari was born out of a desire to move designer leather-alternative accessories into the main stream whilst using ethical practices in both manufacturing and materials.  For years, animal leather has been seen as the product of choice, and alternatives seen as inferior.  This is no longer the case, and advances in manufacturing and mounting public pressure is slowly but surely showing the world that beautiful design, coupled with ethical materials, can easily outshine any leather product.

Our products are designed by us in Australia so that you can know you are carrying a unique piece of fashion.  We are passionately against animal cruelty and dream of the day where the horrendous and archaic practices of today are a thing of the past.

And just in case you were wondering... the word Vuxari comes from an amalgamation of the words vegan and luxury (vegan luxari - ok so we took a few liberties with the English language).  We think it looks and sounds great!

Our materials

We use recycled materials where possible.  This includes recycled PU (polyurethane), recycled plastic linings (rPET) and recycled packaging. We do not use PVC.  Our recycled materials are GRS certified which means they are held to very high international standards for social and environmental processing requirements and chemical restrictions.  Each of our bags removes plastic bottles from the environment (the bigger the bag the more bottles we've reused) and we shy away from plastic packaging as far as possible.

The vegan leather that we use is made from polyurethane (PU) which, while not perfect for the environment, provides an opportunity to incorporate recycled materials into its fabric.  This means removing plastic and material waste that would otherwise be sat in landfill.  We want you to love your Vuxari purchase so that they don't end up back there.  The world of environmentally-friendly fashion can be hard to navigate (there are always compromises to make) but this is the path we have currently chosen.  Rest assured, we will always strive to better our processes as more options become available.

The bottom line.  Are we perfectly environmentally friendly?  No, but we are trying to be as environmentally ethical as we currently know how.  Are we perfectly cruelty-free?  Yes, we are committed to never, ever using animal products in our designs and we are PETA approved.

Please take care of your Vuxari purchases and always store them in their dust bag homes, free from direct sunlight, damp and dirt.

Manufacturing

We work with partners that, aside from being the best in the game, adhere to a number of sustainability and social compliance initiatives.  These initiatives include a commitment to providing a level of standards that we would expect from any workplace.  These standards include the Business Social Compliance Initiative and SMETA/SEDEX which ensure workplaces guarantee:

• no child labour
• no forced labour
• a workplace free from harassment and discrimination
• adequate wages for standard and overtime hours
• a safe working environment
• adherence to environmental standards

These initiatives are voluntary and entitle workers to a safe and fair work environment.  When conditions allow (yes Covid, we mean you), we visit our factories to ensure conditions and product quality remains high.
